Step back in time and get a taste of life as a turn-of-the-century lighthouse keeper. Restored to its former glory, the Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast is a unique place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Hudson River Valley. It is open Thursday through Sunday nights year-round. Popular summertime activities include fishing, picnicking, bird-watching, photography, and relaxing by the riverside. There is no air-conditioning. It is heated in wintertime. Surrounded by the river on a remote shoal, the Lighthouse is reached by walking a gentle half-mile trail.
There are two second floor bedrooms each with a double-bed.

In addition to the double beds, we have two cots available to accommodate children in the East Room (furnished upon request).
The first floor bathroom is shared by everyone staying in the lighthouse. It contains a sink and a shower with hot and cold running water. A composting toilet is utilized because the lighthouse is located far from the municipal sewage system. Instructions for its use are provided upon arrival.
Breakfast is provided for overnight guests. For other meals, you can dine at an area restaurant or carry food to the lighthouse. To prepare a meal at the lighthouse, the kitchen is available for use as well as our outdoor propane grill. The adjacent island is a pleasant place to enjoy a picnic meal. For those wishing to eat in town, select from a variety of local restaurants that range from fast food to elegant fare. See our online list of Places to Eat. |
